NUBRIKON FH-5
   WATER-BASED GRAPHITIC FORGING LUBRICANT

Nubrikon FH-5 is a concentrated graphite forging lubricant.  It was designed specifically to forge or extrude difficult aluminum and brass alloys, however it will work very well on most steel alloys as well.  Nubrikon FH-5 utilizes special additives that help to suspend the graphite in solution even after dilution. The special builder / binder system also helps to reduce lubricant buildup in the dies.  Outstanding die life is accomplished by incorporating a unique blend of “metal-movers” and extreme pressure additives that produces an even, highly lubricious coating that can be sprayed onto dies at temperatures up to 750° F.

Nubrikon FH-5 can be applied by spraying or swabbing. Optimum results are obtained by using either an air or air-less atomized spray system. Nubrikon FH-5 is supplied as a concentrate and is designed to be diluted with water.  Gently mix the concentrate before use to assure that it is homogenous.  A good starting dilution ratio would normally be 1 part lube to 20 parts water.  Add the water to the concentrate while mixing.  Mix for 10 minutes after all of the water has been added.  This assures that the mixture is homogeneous.  Intermittent mixing of the diluted product is required.  It is important to note that much higher dilution ratios are normally obtained depending on the complexity and severity of the forging.
