One of the most difficult and demanding lubricant applications is the forging of metals. When cold or hot billets are squeezed between steel dies, the shear, compression and tensional stresses generated can be enormous. Nubrikon supplies special forging lubricants designed to minimize the uniquely different requirements of aluminum, bronze, steel and titanium when they are forged in hammers, mechanical or hydraulic presses. The Nubrikon lubricants dramatically lower friction, often reducing the number of impacts, increasing production, lowering downtime for cleaning and polishing of dies, all at proven, cost effective values.

Nubrikon graphite release agents are used in all metal melting industries. Graphite does not react nor form carbides with lead, tin, germanium, gallium, indium, thallium, platinum, palladium, iridium or ruthenium. Its activity is so low that it is essentially non-reactive with copper, zinc, cadmium, magnesium, silver, aluminum, mercury and gold. Molds coated with Nubrikon graphite release agents are used to cast all the above commercially important metals. While graphite will react with molten iron, it remains the single most effective release agent for large ingot molds.

Among the most demanding release agents are those used in aluminum die casting. When molten aluminum is forced under pressure into a die cavity its propensity to bind to the mold configurations and bond to the mold metal is great. Nubrikon provides special release agents that successfully stop binding and bonding but just as importantly do not stain the casting, are economical to use and the cast parts can be easily painted and finished without special cleaning procedures.
