De-Carburization Coating

Nubrikon BA is a water dispersion of selected high temperature glass forming compounds and binders. It is applied by spraying, brushing, or dipping, then allowing to air dry. The resultant coating prevents decarburization and oxidation of the coated metal. BA has a high green strength to resist chipping and spalling of the dried coating prior to firing and during handling. It contains no lead or graphite, and is not flammable. The material is formulated to provide decarburization protection on coated steel in the 2000° - 2400°F (1090° - 1316°C) temperature range.

Nubrikon BA is normally used directly from the container as supplied, but may be diluted with plain tap water for some spray applications.The material should be thoroughly mixed prior to use as there may be some settling during prolonged storage and shipping. When theproduct is thoroughly uniform, BAcan be spray applied onto clean refractory surfaces. Air or electrostatic spraying normally provides the most consistent coatings. Allow the coating to dry completely prior to handling. Drying times can be shortened by preheating the substrate or post treating in an oven between 150 and 250°F.
